Complete refurbishment of the 5th floor: electrical installations, telecommunications, access control and lighting, coordinated with building management so the other floors were unaffected.
What was needed
A floor refurbishment in an occupied corporate building has a constraint that is not technical: the other floors are still working. The electrical installation, the data network, the lighting and the access control of an entire floor had to be rebuilt, to agreed hours and without noise or outages affecting the neighbours.

Refurbishing one floor without disturbing the rest
The constraint on a refurbishment in an occupied corporate building is not technical: it is about coexistence. Neighbouring floors are still working, management has rules on hours, noise and lift use, and any badly planned outage affects companies with nothing to do with the works.
That is why the schedule is negotiated before the scope. What can be done in working hours, what requires nights or weekends, how materials are brought up and when the floor can be de-energised. When the electrical work, the network, the lighting and the access control are delivered by one team, that negotiation happens once instead of four times.
