Industrial and substation electrical maintenance in Bogotá

We serve plants, warehouses and production processes where one unplanned stoppage costs more than a whole year of maintenance. We work under framework contracts and on one-off jobs.

The starting point

Unplanned downtime always costs more than maintenance

In a plant, the real cost of an electrical fault is rarely the damaged equipment. It is the lost shift, the batch that goes in the bin, the truck that did not leave and the customer who has to be given an explanation. And yet electrical maintenance is still among the first lines cut when budgets tighten, because while everything works it is invisible.

What does become visible, late, are the warnings that were there all along: the transformer running hotter than it should, the switchboard that smells odd, the energy bill climbing while output does not. Almost all of those signals are measurable before they turn into a stoppage. Thermography picks up a hot spot months before the failure, and a power quality study explains why drives that should last years keep failing.

Critical points

What the regulations require, and what is costing you money

Industry runs on two fronts at once: regulatory compliance, which is mandatory, and electrical efficiency, which is optional right up until it shows on the bill. Both are measured with the same instruments.

01

Current RETIE certification for the installation, and recertification after extensions or alterations.

02

NTC 2050 compliance in conduit, protection devices and switchboards.

03

Periodic grounding measurements, recorded and traceable.

04

Power factor above the regulated threshold — below it, the network operator bills you for reactive energy.

05

Harmonic control, which becomes critical with variable speed drives and non-linear loads.

06

Safety and lockout procedures so that work is carried out without exposing personnel.

Our scope

What we do in plants and warehouses

We work in two ways: on a one-off basis, when there is a specific problem, or under a framework contract, when the plant would rather have a fixed partner accountable for the entire electrical system across the year. The second arrangement delivers the better results, because it allows you to plan instead of react.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

What is a power quality study and when do I need one?
It is an analysis that measures harmonics, power factor and disturbances across your network. It is worth doing when electronic equipment fails without explanation, when the bill rises without output rising, or before installing large loads such as variable speed drives.
Does thermography require shutting the plant down?
No. That is precisely its advantage: it is carried out with the installation running and under load, which is when hot spots reveal themselves. It is a non-invasive inspection.
Do you work outside Bogotá?
Yes. We routinely serve Bogotá and the surrounding savanna municipalities, and we carry out projects across the rest of the country. Tell us where the plant is and we will confirm coverage and lead times.
